Step-by-step guide to working with groups
Groups in Teacherspace help you easily manage who you share content with—whether it's a small team, an entire class, or a group of colleagues.
Tip
Decide who among you will create the group and add members.
Only the person who creates the group can add members.
1. Go to Groups
Once logged in, find the Groups tab in the left-hand main menu. This is where you can create and manage your groups and see the groups you are a member of.
2. Create a New Group
On the group page, find and click the Create Group button. This opens a form where you can set up your group.
Give your group a unique name that clearly describes its purpose (e.g., "Math Teachers" or "5th Grade"). Only the creator of the group can choose and change the name.
Add a description of the group - this could for example be the purpose of sharing or expectations about how often you share.
After entering the name, click the green button Add members.
3. Invite Members to Your Group
When your group is created, it's time to invite people. On the group page, find the option Add Members.
Enter the names or email addresses of the people you want to add to the group. When you see the name you wish to add, click on their name, and they will be added.
4. Manage Group Members
Once people have joined the group, you can always manage the members by going to the group's settings.
To add new members, click Manage Members and follow the same steps.
To remove members, click Manage Members, find the member on the group's list, click the gray X, and then confirm that you want to remove the person.
5. Change the Group's Name and Description
If you want to change the group's name and description, go to Groups on the left side menu.
For the group you want to change, press the three dots and then click Edit Group.
Enter the new name and make any changes to the description.
If you want to delete the group, you can also do it here. Note that this does not delete the videos that still belong to those who recorded them, but it deletes the shares in the group.
